The built environment is not perfect
Our experienced Access Consultants can work with you and your design team to discuss alternatives around challenging aspects of your development.
Considered and Appropriate Performance Solutions
The Building Code’s performance-based approach allows for flexibility in design, consideration of building occupants, functionality in operation of the building and potential management strategies.
We consider the needs of our clients and the needs of those with disability and are open minded to alternative approaches to suit site layouts and building uses.
We use not only our knowledge and experience, but also research and legislation in other states and countries to assist to deliver logical solutions. We do this with an awareness of Human Rights and an understanding of functionality and usability for people.
In Western Australia there is no formal ‘unjustifiable hardship’ process for disability access regulations therefore as an asset owner you may not be protected in WA by using this method.
The only effective pathway is a professionally documented performance solution from a qualified access team who produce robust performance solutions to reduce your risk of a claim under the DDA.
